The Davenport Blue Sox were a minor league baseball team that played in the Western League and Midwest League from 1936 to 1957. The team was based in Davenport, Iowa, and played its home games at Municipal Stadium. The Blue Sox won five league championships during their existence, and several notable major league players began their careers with the team, including Willie Mays, Ernie Banks, and Hank Aaron. The team disbanded in 1957, but Davenport remained an active minor league baseball town, hosting several teams in the decades that followed.
